Organizing seminars for NPOs involved with international exchange on topics such as: Living Together with Foreign Residents in Japan, Development Education, and Japanese Language Classes.
Organizing the One World Festival, one of the biggest events concerning international exchange and cooperation in Japan. The event provides people with an opportunity to learn about and participate in NPO activities. Planning and implementing the Volunteer Japanese Language Teacher program in collaboration with the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Assisting returning Japanese children and the children foreign nationals living in Japan with their schooling in collaboration with the Board of Education of local governments. Holding the U.S.-Japan NPO Dialogue, in collaboration with the Consulate General of the United States of America, to promote interaction and mutual understanding between American and Japanese NPOs in order to explore the role of NPOs in the development of civil society.
- Publishing the NPO Journal, the only major journal in Japan specializing in NPOs and the global and local issues which concern them. - Publishing the Interpeople Directory, which contains information on over 500 NPOs and other organizations in the Kansai area working on international exchange and cooperation. - Running the pia NPO, the biggest NPO center in Asia. - Running the Shimin Plaza, an information center specializing in international exchange and NPO activities, at the Osaka city-affiliated Osaka International House.
- Holding the Global Study seminar for the general public and the Education for International Understanding seminar for teachers, both of which present participants with an international perspective on the world. - Organizing Let's talk with USJ (Universal Studio Japan) performers, which provides opportunities for children to learn about other cultures in English
- Running pia NPO, which functions as the base for NPO activities in the Kansai area. - Holding seminars on human resource development, fundraising, and public relations for NPOs. - Providing career guidance for people seeking a career in the NPO sector. - Providing training for Japanese-language teachers.
