●「国際協力について語ろう!」~MDGs達成に向けて、今こそアフリカ!~

5th (Saturday) 14:00~16:00

Mr. Yasushi Nishi, who went around the world in 60 days and crossed 31 countries, will talk about his impressions on the way of living of people in each country and region in the world, their current conditions, their charms and the things that surprised him there, while also giving an inside story of his trips.. Also, there would be a discussion onMDGs(Millennium Development Goals), global goals for the realization of a world without poverty through the mutual cooperation of advanced countries and developing countries. There will also be a discussion about the future work in and view of Africa from the standpoint of ODA and NGOs, companies and citizens.

●「グローバル教育コンクール2010」表彰式&トークショー

A contest was held with the purpose of gathering teaching materials and activity reports to help children understand the problems the earth and the world are facing, and to educate people who would be able to act on their own to help solve these problems. The outcome of the contest will be imparted through the Festival. A talk show by Navigator Tomohiro Sekiguchi will also be held.

A class will be held where the students will be played by young artists and the teacher played by an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The class aims to depict international cooperation, which is usually thought of as difficult, and about the current state of the world. The presentation will be done in a comical way so participants would say, 登h, so that痴 it!

Peace art work with Korean and Japanese Children

Although Japan and the Korean Peninsula have had exchange for a long time, even historically, it has not yet overcome the history of conflict since the modern period. However, there are people like us who live in both countries who desire peace. Through knowing about the art exhibit, won’t you think about “How to make a relationship that puts a smile” on the faces of children living in Japan and North Korea and South Korea.

●「アイ・コンタクト」

“Eye Contact”

This is a documentary film about Japan’s Women’s Soccer Team that joined in the 2009 Olympics of the hearing impaired, "Deaflympic Games" held in Taiwan. The members of the 鄭nother Nadeshiko, composed of women from different backgrounds, from high school students to company workers and married people, also have different experiences in soccer. In the movie, you will not only see what happened during the match, but the movie will also depict the lives of each member, whether it is in school or the office, as well as how their families felt with regards to their endeavor.

We have all seen people who live on the streets. However, we never stop and give them notice. This movie is a story about a young man who kept watching someone who lives in the streets, “Mr. Ashigara.” There will also be an explanation by Takeshi Ikuta, author of ‘Let’s think about poverty’ and ‘View on the Attack on People Who Sleep in the Open’.

●「消された革命-ビルマの民主化と難民-」

This is a showing of the film “Reporting from a Closed Country, which was filmed at the risk of being arrested. The democratic election was held, and Aung San Suu Kyi was released from house arrest. There is also a report by Yuzo Uda who, within the large movement, continued to cover Burma for many years and was actually present at this time痴 election.

This is a must see movie for people who think that human rights movies are stiff and boring. 3 chapters were chosen from a short omnibus movie by six South Korean directors, "If you were me " The movies to be played are 哲.E.P.A.L. Never Ending Peace And Love by Director Park Chan-wook, 典he 'Weight' of Her by Director Im Sun-Rye, and 鼎rossing by Director Yeo Gyoon-dong . It is a Commission on Human Rights South Korea nation production in 2003. It has been shown in theaters in Korea and Japan. They will have unique ways, either in a sharp or comical way, to approach your heart and make you think about human rights.

Participants of the “World Youth Ship”, which ventured out into the world from Kansai, the participants of the Cabinet Office of Japan’s International Exchange Project(Feb. 5), and participants of Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer・Senior Overseas Volunteer (Feb. 6) will talk about their experiences and the world’s current condition.

The truth of delicious chocolate

We can learn about the mechanism of World Trade, the present state of the world’s children and the background of the problem of child labor from a cacao seed, the basic ingredient of chocolate. Let us all think together on how we, who live in Japan, can help in getting rid of child labor in the cacao industry.

International Students Forum

An ‘International Student Forum’ – Theme: ‘Let us talk about developing global human resources and deepen international understanding. International students will talk about their counties, what is necessary to obtain global viewpoint, expectations towards Osaka internationalization and the importance of developing global human resources. Anime & Manga is very popular in overseas. Onomatopoeia such as ‘doki doki’ or ‘zuba’ are illustrated like an art design and are seen by people all over the world. You will see ‘the World of onomatopoeia’ through the web site ‘The Japanese of Animation and Manga’.

Photo Exhibition & Seminars – Witnesses to Iraq

Iraq does not arouse concern in the international society anymore with its improvement of public peace. However, the people continue to suffer. The regulation committee NGO for Iraq(NCCI)will bring to Japan the photo exhibit that was held all over the world to relate the actual condition in Iraq.

JHP(JAPAN TEAM OF YOUNG HUMAN POWER)-Report

A report will be conducted by youth who were sent to Cambodia as volunteers for 1 month. Through making playground equipment (swings) at elementary schools and by living together, they were able to widen their view of the world of international cooperation.

Reporting of JICA Development Education Study Tour for School Teachers in Tanzania

The North Korea refugees are tossed about by political dynamics of northeast Asia and are in fact left alone, hardly receiving support. As a result of this, they have been exposed to severe human rights violations. Even now, North Korea refugees in China, protected by Japan, South Korea and the UNHCR establishments, have not been allowed to leave the country for several years and are currently confined. Why is this so? Is the international community allowing this reality?

Santiago is a Grade 3 boy from Brazil. He can speak Japanese very well, but he doesn’t do his homework. Why is that? ●包みの文化「ふろしき」を知ろう~ふろしきの包み方教室

Furoshiki school

Japanese ‘furoshiki’ – traditional Japanese wrapping cloth – is reconsidered as an environmental friendly tool. We will learn from the Japan Furoshiki Association Lecturer about the wrapping culture of Japan and the world, as well as how to make use of the furoshiki using various folding techniques. You will have a furoshiki as a souvenir after this program. Project by: Takashimashiya Ltd.

●民族料理模擬店

Ethnic Food Stalls

NGOs and groups of foreigners living in Japan will introduce local dishes of their home country or countries they support to deepen cultural understanding through ‘food’. We will adopt ‘Dish Reuse System’ which avoid using disposable dishes and also ‘Food pictograms’ that show raw materials of dishes. Because of the pictograms, everybody can tell what kind of raw materials are included. Therefore, you can easily tell which meal you can eat depending on your restrictions, like allergies, religions, etc.

Children’s art work in Korea and Japan

●クリニクラウン写真展「瞬間を生きるこどもたち」

This is a photo exhibit where we can actually feel the practice of the clinical clown, which represents voice of children who are spending their life in the hospital. Feel the art called the interweaving communication between the Master clinic clown and the children.

●写真展“みんなのアジア”~わたしたちが出会ったアジア太平洋~

A photo exhibit where we can gaze at the “Asia of Everyone”, by conveying through pictures and words what Asia is to each of the participants of the Study Tour Work Camp (Overseas Study Program) that we have met.

●渋谷敦志氏の写真展「明日があるから -国境に生きるビルマ難民-」

From the life of a Burmese refugee at a Thailand Burmese border, please think about the human-rights violation of the Burmese military regime that exists in the background.

●世界を写そう:私たちは貧困を終わらせる

Picture This : We Can End Poverty

To make people more concerned of the various problems of the world, such as poverty and climate change, a photo contest, “Let us take a picture of the world: we will end poverty”, was held in 2010 and we were able to gather over 3,400 pictures. This is a Photo exhibit composed of the winning photograph and photographs that would help us understand what the world is doing for the achievement of MDGs.

●「Japan Youth Campaign feat. Youth Theatre Japan」

2010/2011 is the ‘International Year of Youth’. Youth Theatre Japan (YTJ) will have a performance to show their support to youth generation’s active contribution to society and international cooperation and exchange.
